Artist's Comments

I decided, after not using them or around 8 years, to do some more watercolor work again.

I still love me some Copics, but it's important to be able to work in different mediums, right? Anyway, I copied the image from the back of the Persona 3 box because :iconthehumungusstudio: was playing it, so it was out, and I thought it would be a good idea to work from an image just to start out so I can get used to the feel of painting after such a long break....yeah.

So my focus here wasn't so much the drawing, but the color work and blending (or lack thereof). Is it a rule that black, in ANY medium, is impossible to blend smoothly? Just wondering.

Comments/concrit welcome.

Here be watercolor.

Is he/she missing a foot???
*ponder* Car accident? Diabetes??!
Any who...
the watercolors look great!
Though i dislike them, i like the affect.
Black only blends smoothly in Charcoal...
and even then it's iffy.

You know, I have no idea about the foot thing. Even in the original image it's kind of a shapeless lump...so I drew what I sees lol.

This is great. I fricken love that hand. :D
Maybe some more defined lines might help her stand out a bit more from the blended background. Have you considered using water color colored pencils or regular colored pencils to aid blending over the straight watercolor? Dunno, just an idea. :3

Thank you! And you're right- there's a blurriness to her body that wasn't intentional. I'm trying to mix my copics with it, but I'm still getting a blur. I think it's just something I'm gonna have to work on and improve; I'm blaming a lack of control because I'm not used to them yet. Thanks for the suggestion!
